“We had such an amazing time with Razi & Wandi. Learning about the history of Soweto and how life is lived then and now, was incredibly insightful and also devastating. Soweto really gets a bad rep, but I felt safer there than I did in Joburg. We got to try three different beers, and multiple different tasty foods. I was definitely full and feeling the beer. I think the Soweto Gold had to have been my favorite because I had two. The biking wasn’t terribly difficult, coming from someone that doesn’t have the best stamina. “I had the best time with Dylan! We started with a walk around the neighborhood and he shared the history of it and what they are doing to foster community there. It was wonderful to see a different side of Joburg and we stopped at the market for refreshments. While cooking, we chatted about food, life, culture, and our experiences learning to cook. He was kind enough to print the recipes and teach me how to pronounce the names. The food was delicious and amazing; I had a great time cooking with Dylan. I ate sooo much!! And can hardly wait to get home and feed my friends and family…”
